Final Freighting

Lots of FFX.

The usual World of Warcraft raiding, though recently we have been cutting back to four scheduled raids a week instead of five. I've been easing off on Mon and Tues nights, too.

Handed in my resignation at work on Saturday. I am going back to full-time tomorrow. My last day will be Saturday, 16 December. We should be heading up North not long after that to visit mum, dad and the family; to spend Christmas with them. I hope to get in some fishing with Matt while we are in Taupo.

Nick is moving to Hamilton this coming Friday. We are trying to sell our furniture but so far it's not going so well. May have to shift it all to Lish's and sort it out from there. Oh yeah, and I'm moving back to Lish and Matt's next Monday. My tenancy will expire the following Mon, as I had to give 21 days notice, so that gives me a week after my move to finalise shifting stuff and get the whole place spic 'n span.

I played drums at church three Sun mornings in a row. It'll be good to take a break this coming Sun. We had our last service at Wai-iti Cres yesterday. Hutt CCC no longer exists. Bring on Hope Centre! It's gonna be great moving to a new spot for church. A little harder for me to attend music practice but I'm sure I can sort something out for that.

Renzokuken

It has been a while since I last updated this. There are two reasons: I've spent too much time playing and doing other things to put aside 15 mins to Blog; last time I went to write an entry, the site was down.

A couple of weeks ago, a Korean lady from next door came over to ask for help with English. We are making it a weekly thing. She came over last night with a few pieces of chocolate cake, and spent two hours here, instead of the usual one. It was her birthday, which explains the cake. She also brought over a little so-ju (alcoholic rice beverage), which I hadn't had since I was in Korea - and then, only once that I recall.

WoW is just humming along. The expansion has been pushed back to at least January 2007, which means a few more months to level my rogue - who is now 30 - and to get more epics on my mage, to help with levelling her to 70 when the time comes.

Recently (from Sunday, actually), I have been playing Final Fantasy X again. My most recent game wasn't too far in, but since then I have made a fair amount of progress. Not too long until I have the airship and pretty much free reign, meaning I can really uber out my characters, play Blitzball and fight captured fiends ^^

I had an exam last Thursday. I think it went ok. I have my last one this Thursday, and then I have a week off before starting back at work full-time for the Summer. That will mean less WoW, but the ability to actually survive due to getting money. My student allowance gets cut off soon, so hopefully I can get enough hours at work from the 12th of Nov until my course starts up again next year. Speaking of which, I really must sort out exactly what I'm going to be doing next year...

I'm borrowing Lish's car this week. They went over to Fiji on Friday, with Reuben. The price I have to pay is dropping Nick at work, but hopefully I can put it to some good use by buying myself a tv whilst I have the transport - or something. Because we seriously need a new tv. Not that I use it all that much, but I do watch Stargate regularly, and will hopefully be getting into some more anime - plus, of course, there is FFX; and FFXII, when it eventually gets released.

Well, back to FFX.

Overhaul

It's been a while - yet again. So here's an update:

On Sunday night I was promoted to Mage Officer for my World of Warcraft guild, Unknown. It's a big responsibility, but one that I am willing to, and able to, undertake . It doesn't mean I automatically get better geared up, but it does mean that I am in a position of respect and am expected to assist and attend ^.^

I wrote a 2,000 word essay on the merits of a formulaic approach to genre, taking the slasher genre as the main focus and using an example of the film Scream. IMO, it turned out pretty well. Not the most solid essay, but then: it can be hard to write 2k words on such a topic and keep it interesting. It's due in tomorrow - I wrote it on Wednesday.

I picked up my Athlon X2 Dual Core 4200+ CPU on Tuesday and spent the next two days backing everything up. I installed my 7600 GT graphics card and the CPU today and formatted my SATA's. Spent a lot of time trying to get the nVidia RAID controller to work, but to no avail; so I ended up using the Silicon Image one instead, which is what I had before. As I reinstalled Windows - my legit copy of Professional - it meant getting all the up-to-date drivers for everything - and setting my preferences again, too.

So yeah, my whole evening has been spent setting my computer up. The sad thing is, a lot of the data and media that I backed up has been lost due to poor quality DVD's. I'm going to have to work my way from the ground up with a lot of things. Meh, it's only stuff. So long as I can get WoW working flawlessly, I'll be happy ^^

Slayer of Dragons

Nefarian is no more. Congratulations, Unknown, for completing Blackwing Lair. We are so awesome! That's my mage right there in the middle, wearing the pink dress. I got the [Head of Nefarian] and handed it in on Monday, to receive an uber off-hand: [Master Dragonslayer's Orb].

I missed the train today - it came early >.< So... I had to take the next one to get into town, to hand my assignment in. At least I got it in ok.

Still not sleeping well. I got up in the early hours of the morning when I couldn't sleep and logged my rogue for a while. No idea why, but I felt that playing was better than staring at my darkened curtains for an hour and a half.

Now it's getting late again and I have some Smallville and Stargate Atlantis to watch. Oooh, and I'd better try and download I Know What You Did Last Summer, so I can do a good job on my film research assignment ^^

Stealth Fighter

It's been a bit of a strange week.

Firstly, I haven't been able to sleep. Since daylight savings ticked over and raids go later for me, I've been going to bed quite a bit later than usual. This has had an adverse effect on almost everything. Not only have I found it incredibly hard to even get to sleep but I'm sleeping very little each night. This has caused me to get up late - a choice, but still very hard. Perhaps I currently lack the determination to force myself to get up at a reasonable time.

I've missed all of my classes this week. Nothing was due in - except my weekly film thing, but I emailed that through. I've spent a good deal of time playing my rogue - it's slower to level when you aren't rested, but I'm making reasonable progress.

Today was no different than the rest of the week. Not only did I miss all of this week's classes, but I also missed work today. However, I really haven't been too well. It could be related to my odd waking hours coupled with psychological stress - or something. Nick suggested some medication he came across but I'll have to wait till Monday, when the Pharmacy is open.

Music practice on Thursday night was a little different. We have a guest worship leader for tomorrow's morning service, so his family is going to be playing and singing as well. But hey, I'm still playing the drums. Couple of songs I like too; one of which I actually heard for the first time. It's in 6/8, though, which means that I'll have to really think about what I'm doing :p

To top everything off, last night's Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (40-person) raid was called due to insufficient numbers - some of us did the Ruins (20-person) instead. Eh, more Cenarion Circle rep FTW ^.^ Then, we didn't get the numbers for BWL tonight, so yet another week where we didn't get Nefarian down. We couldn't even push him to phase 2 because of a lack of AoE (mages and locks). Oooh, but I did get my NR pieces made (crown, shoulders, tunic, and cape). So greeeeen :s

So here I am, ready to play my rogue again before I go to bed. I've levelled her to 20 already, and will no doubt play quite a bit after my exams - that is, if the expansion isn't released right then. Because the first thing I'm doing when I get my Collector's Edition of The Burning Crusade, is to run to the Outlands on my mage and go into the five-man dungeon in the first zone (after respeccing, of course) XD

Gogo stealth powaaaa!

ps. I watched Smallville tonight. Still slowly chugging along there ^L^

Sword Complexion

The family went back up north this morning, taking Nick and Laurelle with them. I guess they're all staying in Hamilton overnight and travelling the rest of the way tomorrow. I gave Jonny his birthday present just as they were leaving - some Seinheiser earphones. His birthday isn't for another four weeks but I won't be seeing them till Christmas when I go up north with Matt and Lish - and get some trout fishing in while I'm at it ^^

I hit 60 with my warrior yesterday. Gametime: 9 1/2 days. That's my best yet; but really, I'm not surprised, considering I have levelled two Alliance characters to 60 prior to that. So yeah, three level 60 characters. I used to think that anyone with more than one end-game character played too much :/

I played my sexy human rogue today. She's level 10 now :p I originally intended the character as a bank toon but gave her a proper name anyway. Now that I have a dedicated gnome bank I can play my rogue as a regular character. I may never level her to 60 but I can at least try to get as high as I can before The Burning Crusade is released; because then I'll be trying to get my mage to 70 XD

We managed to get Nefarian to phase 2 on Sunday night, finally. It took us three weeks just to get this far, but at least we now know that our method works; apparently the next two phases are easy compared to controlling the first part. Phat lewts, here we come!

Saw an awesome mace-specced rogue video today. With mace spec, the rogue has a chance to stun their enemy, therefore giving them yet another advantage. This guy was pwning two Horde players at once, regardless of class - yes, even locks and shammies :s GG Alliance rogz ^.^ Too bad he was beaten by a friendly mage, hunter and paladin, each duelling separately. It just goes to show that even skilled players don't always win - and this guy was employing every trick available.

There's an early maintenance tonight. The servers shut down much earlier than usual. I didn't get a chance to pvp with Nick's rogue, Zanith, again. He wanted me to get some more honour to push him through to rank 8. As for my mage, since I haven't pvped in like a month, I should rank down to rank 6 this week. I'm not fussed. PvP is a thing of the past. I really need to grind out as much Cenarion Circle rep as I can to get my sword ^o^

Essay writing tomorrow. Yay. Actually, it's good to plan assignments like that. It's a goal to work towards and allows me to really focus on what I shoul be doing.

Stargate Atlantis is going well; I'm up to episode 9 of the first season. But right now, it must be time to go watch a movie. Or something :p

Epic Green Battletank

The Prophet Skeram
After four or five attempts at The Prophet Skeram, we decided to call it. Well, at least a number of people in the raid are now able to summon elite bug mounts, as these are a common drop off the trash mobs leading up to AQ40's first boss. I so want a green one ^^

I have to work on my English essay next week and try to get that out of the way so I can do the research for my Film one in the following week. It was a pretty uneventful week this week. We wiped on Chromaggus a few times last night. I joined late because I had music practice and my computer was playing up.

The Blue Screen of Death kept hitting me. I think it was WoW patch related, actually, but was most probably related to a hardware / driver conflict of some sort. Having a different Windows account to log into seems to be a fix - at least, for now. I am still waiting for my new cpu to arrive, and until it does, my new graphics card will just sit there and I have to bear with my computer and its serious need of a format and Windows reinstallation.

Mum's birthday was on Wednesday. I gave her $50 of MTA vouchers. It'll help them with petrol costs for travelling to and from way up north. My brother has been staying here a bit but he stayed with mum and dad at our sister's house last night and is doing so again tonight.

Dad brought the kids around here and they watched The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I just did my Temple of Ahn'Qiraj raid, as scheduled. Tomorrow is mum's 50th birthday party, and we expect there to be a fair amount of people.

I'l gonna be so tired by tomorrow night. Glad I'm not playing this Sunday. I still went to music practice last night, regardless.

The Devil Wears Suede

My new screen has proved to be awesome. I've noticed a lot more detail ingame and everything is just so colourful and clear wherever.

We had a few attempts at the Nefarian fight on Sunday night. We didn't make it past phase 1 - the draconid spawns - but we did learn a little about what is effective and what isn't. Hopefully we can settle on a tactic and really get some practise in so we can push through to phase 2. Didn't realise how hard the fight was going to be until we actually had a few good attempts at it.

The family has come down for a week. They arrived today. My bro's girlfriend came down yesterday, too. Both she and our younger brother are staying with us this week. Mum looks way fitter than she has in years, which is good. Makes me feel that I need to exercise more and build my own strength up again.

We (my brother, his gf, our other brother and I) watched some crap movie tonight after spending the evening with family at our sister and brother-in-law's place. It's called "The Devil Wears Prada" - some fashion thing. I was able to recognise a few conventions and motifs of a classical narrative movie, at least :p

These entries seem to be getting farther and farther apart. I would like to make more of an effort to write - even something random that is space filler - but I've got a headache a lot of the time and find that between uni and playing WoW / posting to the forums, time just slips by more and more.

Speaking of university, I seem to be getting B+'s for most of my assignments. A little more dedication should see me push up to an A - but then, when you've got better things to do, like grind CC* rep, who can put that effort in to up their grades :p

*Cenarion Circle - currently revered and pushing for exalted, so I can get my [Blade of Vaulted Secrets]

And that's me. Server maintenance tonight sees the release of a small patch update that fixes a few things here and there; mostly with world PvP (Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands). I guess the mount changes aren't happening quite yet - which gives me a little more time to try and save up more gold for buying my mage's epic horse ^^

Visual Upgrade

I got my new monitor yesterday. Running my desktop at 1600 x 1200 is awesome! The 8-bit LCD block, which gives 16.7M colours, allows for really good colour composition. The 20.1" screen size is huge and everything is bright and clear running through DVI. All in all, it was $800 well spent ^^

My warrior is now level 58. I ran this quest yesterday called Jailbreak! which takes a couple of hours. It involved clearing two "rings" filled with groups of mobs and then escorting a prisoner and fighting spawns along the way. I've done it more than twice before but it's a real mission to have to do it again. At least that part is out of the way...

We had a poor run through Blackwing Lair last night. Razorgore didn't pose much of a problem - we dispatched him on our first attempt, in about ten minutes. But Vael sure gave us a run for our money. He wiped us time after time. We finally got him down but time had really moved on. After wiping due to a stupid pull in the suppression rooms and the server announcing its imminent half-hour shutdown, we decided to call it.

Since we are starting on AQ40 this weekend, that leaves me with very little time to farm for the rest of the Living Essence that I need to get my mage's three craftable Nature Resist armour pieces made. Might as well farm with my warrior and get what little experience I will get while I'm at it.

Two more essays to do and then it will be very close to final exams. Nothing to worry about. I'll either do very well or ok, and it's ok with me if I just get B's in all my papers. I look forward to finishing. It means I'll have a lot more time to spend playing the expansion, which should come out around the time that my exams wrap up, hahaha XD

As for employment over the Summer, responsibility tells me I should work more hours at DSE. I guess I'll wait and see what sort of student supplement the government is willing to give me over Christmas :p

Back to Scripting

After thinking about it, the most probable reason that I don't write here every day is that I just don't feel like writing every day. Aside from the fact that almost every evening is spent in much the same way, my life is just so uneventful that I would have to come up with something out of the ordinary just to have content.

I started watching Stargate Atlantis. It's a little different. They play with Ancient technology a lot more, which is cool. BTW, this pic must be from season two, as I have no idea who the guy with dredds or the bald officer are, not to mention that Sheppard looks like a different actor. Then again, it could just be a bad hair day for him :p

Thinking about sci-fi has reminded me of that snippet I wrote a while back about those invisible entities that controlled humanity and were bent on basically destroying the souls of humankind. I'd like to go back to something like that, but I just need the motivation to plan something out and actually write it.

I read an article recently that encouraged writing just a few hundred words a week in order to put something together in about a year or so. 500 words a week for 52 weeks works out to 26,000 words. If each page is 300 words, that's more than 85 pages. Increasing what you write per week would see a book in no time ^^

Promise Keepers on the weekend was good, as usual. I didn't get anything really memorable out of it. I do, however, need to prioritise things again. It seems that WoW came and took the first place again, despite the fact that I do read the Word, etc. I spend too much time playing. Tomorrow, I'm going to write two essays for two different papers. That'll be a bit of a change. It's a good thing when the server goes down for a 36-hour maintenance period - encourages taking a break and doing RL stuff.

Yesterday, my monitor decided to play up, so I took it down to Dick Smith and did a service repair on it. Suffice to say, once I do get it back I'm going to pass it on to mum and dad because they could do with a 19" TFT. I spent a couple of hours researching monitors and reading up about them and decided on some optimal specs for my next monitor. I found the Samsung 204B to be the most fitting for what I want and so placed an order. Hopefully it will arrive before the end of the week. Awesome!

Went to bed at 2.30am last night. Some of my fellow guildies and I were talking on Teamspeak for ages. I was just farming in Silithus with a hunter and some of the other guys (and gals) were elsewhere in the world (on both counts), but we were just talking about random stuff. Good times :p

Roundhouse To The Phace

I'd better post something. Yup. Had a headache on Thursday night and went to bed early. That was last night, actually. I still watched some Stargate and Naruto, though. No WoW for me but sleep is always better than playing, anyway (don't tell my guild I said this ^^).

Couple of assignments coming up. I'll get those done just before they are due in. Just whatever, hmmm. Playing the drums this coming Sunday but because of yesterday's throbbing head I didn't attend music practice last night.

Promise Keepers this weekend. Tonight was interesting. This ex-kung fu master, Tony Anthony, took one session. He used to kill people and stuff. Really violent character but a world champion in kung fu for three years at the end of the 80's. Awesome testimony. God uses him powerfully just as he used to use his fists powerfully. Hwaaaa!

So I missed BWL tonight - am missing BWL, as they are probably finishing off Flamegor about now, if not getting onto Chromaggus already. And tomorrow night, because PK will still be going, I will miss MC. I'm probably going to take my hunter in a couple of weeks. It's mum's birthday next week. I'd better get her something :/

Time to sleep. I have to get up early for tomorrow's full-on sessions. I'd better scrape together some cash for lunch, just in case there is no way of acquiring money through plastic means. I doubt the food outlets onsite will have EFTPOS capabilities. Best to be prepared for whatever.

Chromaggus Breathes His Last

Last week, on our first BWL night, we took down the first four bosses. Four bosses in one night was a guild first and showed that we are making great progress. The next night, we decided to up the ante. The following is a true story and in no way exaggerates how l33t Unknown is becoming ^^

Ebony - or ivory - Unknown's piano was in tune Friday night as they tinkled out a drakely dirge. Ebonroc, another colossal captive of Blackwing Lair tasted stately stone within just a few minutes of first encounter. Unprepared, but raring to press on, this heroic team of dervish dragon-slayers were soon caught, spell to snout with the alchemy lab's third occupant and final opponent: Flamegor. Lil' Flamey put up a fearsome battle but after only two attempts he joined his brother in the seven-day slumber that Unknown is fast becoming renowned for.

With time to spare and all in good spirits, the sizeable switch was thrown and the great two-headed hound, Chromaggus, pet of Lord Nefarion himself, rumbled out and steamrolled the suicidal, scantily-clad trespassers. With his dual-breath tactic so deviously discovered, everyone geared up for the first - and only - attempt to bring this doggy to heel. With bated breath we gave it our all but just couldn't bring him to his knees. Chromaggus: silver; Unknown: bronze. The games have only just begun.

A migraine last night forced me to miss yet another magnificent milestone: Chromaggus bit the dust before the evening was out. What a fight to miss! Next week will see us plow through the eyrie of the wicked Lord Nefarius once more. We will face his two-headed pup by the second night and work on improving both time and effectiveness for the first seven boss battles. A whole night working on getting Nefarion down will see us defeat Blackwing Lair in just a few short weeks. Bring on the lootz :p

Progress

I know I've posted this image before, but my hunter finally got his [Rhok'Delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers]. I took down Solenor, the fourth and last demon in my quest to get this uber hunter bow (and its counterpart staff). This will make farming with my hunter a bit easier. Now all I need are six more epics from Molten Core, haha.

We took down the first four bosses in BWL tonight. That's our first time to make so much progress in one night. Razorgore took two attempts (lost all our warriors the first time, for some reason); Vaelastrasz took three or four (things just wouldn't go our way); Broodlord we took down on our first try, as usual; and Firemaw only took us two attempts! We really are getting better at this. This means that we will be starting on AQ40 in two weeks' time!

I've officially quit PvPing with my mage. Knight-Captain, Rank 8, isn't such a bad achievement. I only progressed 15% this last week and so realised that the grind to the next rank is just too much for me to handle. Better that I take my warrior to 60 and get more reputation and the rewards that different factions offer, to better function in our guild raids. PvP will still be fun from time to time, but it is no longer going to consume me during my gametime. Instances and unfinished quests, here we come ^^

Bite Me

Why are sharks so damn ugly?

Tired. Depressed. Bored. Not enough PvP this week. Back to study. Assignment due on Friday. I'll probably throw some crap together tomorrow night and find references online. So long as I pass it's ok. I want to finish the year and see how much more study I have to do before getting my degree. I'll cut corners everywhere I can just to get it over with.

As for my writing career, that's not looking too promising. I just don't take the time out to write anything extra. All my time is spent playing one of my three WoW characters. It's not like there's anything else - well, except MacGyver. I've just about finished season one. I'll probably go back to Stargate soon and finish all the episodes of that that I have. More anime would be good, too ^^

Well, back to playing my warrior. Level 55 tonight, as soon as I hand these quests in.

Digging For Truth

I just thought this looked cool ^^

Technic FTW!

What to write about today... Hmmm...

Well, it's been a couple of days since my last entry and I really don't have much to say. It's my second week off, which means I'm back at uni next week. I've tried to PvP but haven't done as much as I'd like - I won't be able to much once I'm studying again, unfortunately. Commander is so far off...

We didn't beat Vael last night. That means we get to kill multiple dragons tonight, hehe. Well, so long as Firemaw is willing to die for us :/

Playing drums again this coming Sunday, so I went to music practice last night. Still playing my game of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. I probably won't play it once I clock it. I'd like to get FFX back, actually.

And finally, Winter is over. Today is technically the first day of Spring. I look forward to Summer. I hope to go fishing a bit more than I did last year. Guess it depends on how much I actually work and how much I'll be levelling my characters to 70, what with the release of the expansion before the end of the year.

Oh yeah, my brother-in-law finally saw the light. I pray that God will continue to open up his heart and reveal more and more of his glory! WTG Jesus ^^

Summon Water Elemental FTW!

Maximum Damage

There really is no reason that I haven't been posting a blog entry every day. I just seem to run out of time and go to bed really late. All this free time and I got 170K PvP honour, played my warrior and hunter, and played on the PS2 quite a bit: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. Yet, I just don't get other stuff done. Sleeping in late doesn't really make it easy to fit everything into the day, either :/

I hope that I rank up to my old rank tonight. I won't know until I log in tomorrow. With so many people PvPing like crazy, I wouldn't be surprised if I barely made it up to rank 8 again. Once I'm back at uni I won't get anywhere near what I did this last week, honour-wise. As part of a raiding guild, raids do take priority over everything. Since most of the time I'm logged in is during the times that we raid, suffice to say I just won't get a whole lot of PvP done - and what I do get to do won't be as effective, as we tend to lose a lot. I need an organised group to play with or I will never make Commander :(

Dual wielding two-handed weapons is awesome. I need to empower a couple of awesome two-handers so my barbarian is insanely powerful. So far I'm doing pretty well. I'm recalling each level in BG:DA2 as I do them. I remember when Jonny and I played together for a while. That was back when I was living with mum and dad in Taita. The days of my crazy FFX playing. I got Tidus's Celestial Weapon and could hit for ~65K, lol.

My warrior is now level 54. Not too far to go, really, but it will still take me a while. There are a lot of necessary quests / items to get by level 60 for endgame content. It really depends on how much I'll actually play my warrior at level 60. Can't dedicate yourself to more than one character, really. Most guilds won't allow for that. Still, I'm allowed to bring alts to MC, which is cool. I'll see, once Gaiwyn has all the stuff I want from there, if I can complete Elvanus's T1 armour set. Will probably just run ZG / AQ20 with Gidaeon and do a bit of PvP - once my mage has reached Commander.

The new talents look awesome - for the expansion release and levelling to 70. This is my intended mage talent build. Summon water elemental FTW ^^ The expansion is going to rock - but it's also going to mean playing a lot to level your character/s to the new cap. At least you can alternate characters to optimise rested xp, heh.

The Apocowlypse

Since blogging on a regular occasion, I wanted to keep it consistent and not miss a day. However, things don't always work out like that. It's not really such a big deal if I do miss one entry near the end of the week - not like there's much to say anyway.

We wiped three times in MC. Why?! I can't believe we wiped on Ragnaros, too. People should just not die. It's annoying when people don't play as they should. Udderly disappointing.

With work I have no time to pvp. I hope that tomorrow it will all be fixed and I can play a few games of AV, at least. Sunday afternoons are for PvP. Great.

I need sleep. We shouldn't have spent so long in MC. It's actually almost 1am. I cheated on the time again, muahaha!

If I Could Turn Back Time

It always gets late. However, I only just recently discovered that I can adjust the time of my Blog posts to whatever I like. So, even though the 25th has just ticked over (zomg, 4 months till Xmas!), I can make it so this is postdated the 24th ^^

Seems like a pretty good idea for all those late nights where I don't post anything until after a raid and just before I go to bed :/

PvPed a lot today. I got about 45k honour, not including bonus honour, so close to 70k honour (wow!) and almost 1k kills, although some of that was carried over from the previous day, so I need to subtract something like 277. Still, almost 600 kills in one day isn't too bad an effort. It's all about the honour, baby!

I should make my old rank again next week. Who knows, I could even reach Knight-Champion the following week, if not the week after. Commander by Christmas - haha. The expansion will come out before then and then the whole honour system will have changed completely. The world as we know it will no longer be the same.

[Talon of Furious Concentration] dropped tonight in the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. Very nice off-hand. Another mage got it. Could be a while before I get anything decent from there. My robes set me back quite a bit.

I'm tired. PvPing really drains you. Need to sleep /yawn

Edge of Madness

Just a small picture tonight ^^

Wow, patch 1.12 has made for an awesome change - but with great change comes great server issues. There may have been 74 Warsong Gulch games running at once but it's no good if everyone is teleporting all over the place and can't leave afterwards. Cross-realm PvP opens one up to all new experiences (playing with people you've never met) - and to the same old frustrations (organised Horde groups FTL). But I'm happy with where this has gone - and is going. I look forward to actually having a chance to rank up - maybe even to my desired rank of Commander (Rank 11). We shall see ^o^

No success so far on the Private Server, either. I spent a lot of time today trying to get two different emulators to run my second copy of WoW (patched with oldschool 1.8) so I could experience the l33tness of being a level 255 GM. But no, it just refused to behave. Might try some other time but now that the new patch has gone live I have to play the real thing: attend guild raids, hang out with guildies, enjoy this all new PvP experience.

Looks like my warrior will be level 53 for quite some time yet. Ah well. Better to spend this time getting as much honour as possible and seeing if I can't make some decent progress towards getting my old rank back. Yup, I ranked down to Knight-Lieutenant (Rank 7). Pretty disappointing but not really any surprise.

Did I mention PvP? Yup, thought so. This is the extreme edge of some sort of midnight madness pitiously playing tiresome tricks and sending swirling serenades cascading calmly into the necrotic nether. Tabards of victorious proclamation and an honourable call to arms ensures victory.

Be Your Own GM

Blogger was playing up last night :/

Spent a couple of hours finding out about setting up a private World of Warcraft server. It was a real mission tracking down an emulator and reading up on it. I thought I had it all sorted but then I just couldn't connect - so I figure that you need to install WoW somewhere else and have an earlier patch - plus, I found what looks to be a better emulator anyway, so I'll suss that all out this morning, hopefully before I sort the real game out - since patch 1.12 was finally released during mainenance last night! Servers are still down, though, which is why I'm installing WoW again and will give this emulator another shot.

So what if I go down a rank - I will make up for it by cross-realm PvPing like a crazy-man. As for my private server, I've always wanted to just do what I like. It would be cool for so many reasons - one-manning Ragnaros; getting to secret locations; giving yourself uber items to play with... and so on.

Well, enough about that. It may just turn out to be a great waste of time - imagine trying to get my addons to work :/

My warrior is level 53 now. Yay ^^

Do Something

Whenever I play too much, my brain shuts down to the point that I think and think - and just can't think of anything to put here. I sat on my chair, heater pulled close and just thought for a few minutes about what I could possibly write about. Nothing came to mind. What does one normally put in a blog, anyway?

How about my day:
Got up later than usual and had a headache from the previous day - Sundays have always given me headaches; I don't know why, but I have headaches 85% of the time on Sundays :/
Played my hunter for a bit - mostly trying to farm stuff.
Watched Die Hard 3: With A Vengeance.
Played my warrior.
Played my mage. Did Maraudon with Nick and his druid and then Zul'Gurub with my guild. It's our night off but we still did something - go figure.

So it got late and I had to write a blog entry. Here it is. Hope it was insightful and... something. Must get 16 Living Essences...

Picture This

An image much like this is easy to conjure up in a fantasy setting. A castle with high walls, surrounded on one side by a tall cliff. Travellers, making their way towards that castle. A description of these travellers and their purpose for such a journey. The residents of the castle, the type of world that it's in - it's much easier to build a world with words and then paint it visually than to show a static image and try to describe a scene - at least, that's my opinion. Artists may think differently ^^

Of course, the best descriptive setting is in a 3D game or a movie - moreso a game, where you can explore and experience everything; whereas with a movie, you are restricted to what the director allows you to see and hear.

Got some good NR* gear for my mage this afternoon. No PvP, though. It just won't pop. This new patch is so going to change that. I raid more now, though. Only really started PvPing because I wanted something else to do in the game when I was unguilded ^^

Starfire, Light From Without

Gems seem to glow from within. Perhaps they could be said to contain some form of life. Of course, life comes to some people's eyes when they rest on the glitter of a beautiful stone ^^

My video card arrived today. It's not going in until Tuesday - and I'm not formatting my system until I have my new cpu, which could still be a few weeks away. I bought a new keyboard today - it's a black Microsoft one. Very comfortable. My sales today were the highest ever, too: $7,600 O.O

Nick transferred his druid. I was unable to do mc with my guild due to connection problems when running instances. Instead, after watching MacGyver, Nick and I ran Maraudon twice - he with his druid and me with my level 51 warrior, which I am so going to try and level this coming week.

Lots of grinding ahead :/

Pewpewpew

Back in the day, we used to play Counterstrike all the time. It was as close to realistic - but fun - military operations as you could get in a game. First person shooters, as action games, have always been a huge thing for me - but with WoW taking up most, if not all of my free time, when can I ever play them? There really are some cool games coming out still - nothing that stands out for me right now, but I'm sure that within the next year some awesome titles will be released. I'm just hanging out for the Burning Crusade expansion for WoW ^^

Two weeks off now. I've got to get through work tomorrow and playing the drums at church on Sunday night - then it's freedom for a whole five days. I'll try and get my warrior to level 56 by the end of the week, lol.

When am I not tired. Still watching MacGyver but mostly playing my mage. Our net is uncapped from Monday so that's when I'll be able to do everything properly again. Time for a format then, too. Handed in an assignment today and started a new character: a Night Elf Priest. Must get a priest past level 25, lol.

Shear The Love

Tick - tick - tick - BOOM! The old exploding sheep trick gets 'em every time, eh.

Got my test mark back for ENGL112 - I got a B+, but I guess that's not so bad. If I improve with the rest of my marks I could be looking at an A- or even an A for this paper - if. Now I just have to put in the time and effort to try and do that or better on my other papers. Guess we'll see this week how the group assignment for FILM101 went and, hopefully, how well I did in my ENGL114 test on poetry (traditional ballads), Romance (Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing) and the Gothic (Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey). Then there's the FILM101 essay that's due next week; but which I will hand in before this week is out. Sif go into town during my break :p

That exploding sheep pic is from a cool art site: http://www.jasonchanart.com/gallery.htm

I also read an article this evening. I think it's pretty stupid, actually. Europeans ever were too emotional and high-strung. It's all about moderation and prioritising, son. Learn2notplay, pfft. Oh, here's the link.

Didn't play WoW today. I'm gonna go see Pirates 2 with Ben and his little bro Sam.

Time Is Never Time At All

Like the gears of the mind that spin when you try and think of something to say, this picture is a stationary representation of the thought process. I really can't think of anything to write tonight. I still have to do a scene review for my film paper. Instead, I spent most of the afternoon and all of this evening doing stuff with guildies. It was kewl, but very time consuming, and I didn't get anything done that I should have got done - save for the dishes :p

We failed on Firemaw last night, but at least we gave it a go. I really have to get my mage's Fire Resist gear up, but it's harder than just spending gold on some substantial pieces. There is some stuff I'm relying on the guild to provide. At least I was able to send myself a particular cloak from my hunter, as I never equipped it, having got it from his old guild.

I'll most probably rank down some more this week. I'm more or less waiting for the new patch - and besides, our guild focusses a lot more on raiding, which doesn't leave much time for me to PvP when I play. There just aren't enough hours in the day...

About Time

Despite our net having been capped since the start of the month, I am now finally able to load the Blogging site - and even post an image! There must be a reprieve in our slow speeds - and I'm going to take this opportunity to finally catch up.

Yes, I haven't posted an entry in five days - and yes, that's teh longest time I've gone without having posted a single thing, since I began posting on a daily basis back in... March or whatever. It was during my "time off" WoW. Now I'm back into the swing of things and am trying to do too much at once /sigh

I have a test tomorrow. I was supposed to work today but they sent me home so I could go to church - well, it was a little late for that so I grabbed some groceries and came home to study for tomorrow's test. I couldn't help but play a little bit but I did sit down and go over my notes in preparation for whatever is thrown my way tomorrow. Meh, I should do ok ^^

My intention was to go to church tonight - but after studying, and watching King Arthur (the latest movie, with Keira Knightley), I'm just too tired to walk in the dark and cold to make up for having missed this morning's service - which I was going to miss anyway because of this silly grand opening. Nothing grand about it, actually. It didn't even get much busier than a regular Saturday yesterday and I'll bet the same was true of today :p

I'm just going to eat my tea and try to kick Nick off the game. Sif he can play his druid O_o

Ryu no Shin desu

What's so great about fighting Onyxia? Only the chance to get my Tier 2 head piece: [Netherwind Crown]. And a chance to get an 18-slot bag and the [Head of Onyxia], which, when turned in, yields a rather respectable item: [Dragonslayer's Signet]. We do her every reset, which is every five days. It could be months before I get the head.

Ok, I give up. I keep getting disconnected. We had some nice PvP going in Silithus and I kept lagging out and disconnecting from the server. So much for sneaking in that last little bit of honour before maintenance tonight. Why, oh why, did my brother have to blow the cap this month?

I took today off as well as yesterday. With the weather the way it is, it probably wouldn't have helped with my recovery - actually, going out at all, regardless, wouldn't have helped. I'm not 100% yet, but I'm definitely going to have to go in tomorrow. Missing three lectures, a tutorial and two movies isn't the best way to start any week.

No pictures tonight. I found a good one - of an owl - but our net has been shaped (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwidth_shaping). Can't do much and don't have much to say. In fact, I can't even change font colours / style in this entry or link words at all.

I took the day off, having laryngitis at the moment. Played WoW and not much else.

That about sums it all up. It was a good day. Cold outside but I kept myself comfortable. May have to take tomorrow (today) off as well, but I'll see how my throat and head are when I get up.

Food For Thought

All ph34r the mechanical squirrel. I've lost my voice - can anyone help me find it? It's kindof important. But hey, power is in the fingertips - with this keyboard and this text box I can create and destroy with just a few strokes. A bubbling brook and rolling hills get pwned by a lavaspitting arachnid and firebreathing drakes; a gentle touch is overshadowed by explosive content; a sighing wind drowned out by a raging hailstorm.

Life spits golfballs, one after the other. Man dodges what he can, catches what he can, knocks aside all that he can and gets hit in the face with the rest. An endless drive forward, deciding to do; to say; to ignore; to live up to; to attempt to overcome; to build upon; to push against; to scream at: wordlessly, soundlessly, triumphantly.

Pain, sorrow, struggle - relief, joy, achievement. Balance what you can on the point of destiny and pray that fate is in a favourable mood. Accomplishment comes from trying - success comes from wise decisions - happiness comes from being able.

Reflect not so much on the past; it heralds the now but tries to hold back. Dwell somewhat on the present; it is where you are and plots where you are going. Think on the future; unless you plan ahead you won't get there.

The mystery has been solved. Secure data was retrieved earlier today and reconnaissance reports state that the goods are in possession of another. This investigation is officially over.

The inevitable hit him like a shot to the head. His heart was ripped out and left to drift on a sea of forsaken desire, devoid of feeling. Such happy days and seemingly positive coincidences led to regret and negative consequences. Life bites and hopes shatter. What thoughts; what feeling; what, but numbness and reflection?

Mythtery

It's always best to write down what you are thinking, as close to the time you thought it as you can. This is where a dictaphone would come in handy - could endeavour to be a little embarrassing, if you're in a public place and decide to have an epiphany ^^

Today was a good day. It could have been better, but it's better to say that a day was good than focussing on what could have improved it. University seems to be full of coincidences - or at least events seem to point to a divine hand that is guiding things in their course, ensuring that all goes well according to a higher purpose.

For example, I left a lecture this afternoon and began making my way to my film tutorial. I bumped into a classmate who was heading in the wrong direction. He'd just had a test so was a little frazzled and had completely forgotten about the tute. What would have been the result had I not spotted him? It's interesting how events come together like that.

Mystery girl is still a strong focus for me. I'm thinking I'll just call her Mystery from now on - makes it sound a little more... mysterious XD And hey, if, by some divinely crafted happenstance, things do work out - as I hope against hopes that they miraculously do - then maybe the beat of my Blog will change. Less WoW, more Mystery. ROFL. I can't help but laugh at my own folly - if indeed it could be called that. Ineptitude, possibly.

As usual, I walked up the stairs this morning towards the lecture theatre wherein I had my scheduled ENGL114 lecture. Who should be sitting on the seat second nearest to the top of the landing, but Mystery; reading a book. And so, as fate would have it, I was able to talk to her a little before the lecture started. I even determined where she lives. And to make things even better, I had the blessing of being able to sit next to her for that particular lecture. Not a big deal, really, as I tend to concentrate on what's happening and try to take full notes. Still, it was... a start.

I expected to see Mystery in my ENGL112 lecture this avo, but her appearance failed me. It was in hope of that expectation being fulfilled that I decided to break off our engagement after the first English lecture without first procuring her number. Once again, I feel the need to slap my forehead in disappointment. It was a small oversight but one that left me feeling somewhat inadequate. Could have gone the extra little way but didn't - now I have an entire evening ahead of me where I will wonder how things would be right now had I asked. Of course, there would have been one of two possible outcomes: receiving the mysterious number or being outright, mysteriously rejected. I'd like to hold onto hope of the former. At least for now.

Tomorrow will bring the deciding factor: will she or won't she? Tune in tomorrow night to find out if he did or he didn't :p

Grand Adventure

Though perhaps not the most vibrant, inspiring image on the net, this symbol of the big game of cinema represents a good portion of my afternoon - good and portion being two distinct words, as timewise my experience was merely along the lines of 1½ hours, the afternoon consisting of that and a train ride home, only to leave for work an hour later.

Suffice to say, our film assignment is coming along nicely. We now have all of the necessary photos to compile a storyboard - girl tied to chair, axe wielding maniac and all ^^

Perhaps an axe would have made for a more interesting header. Eh, why not:

Firewood, anyone?

We had the official store shift tonight. Our store has now moved ~200m north, to a bigger, brighter, more accessible location. Yay. Having to work six hours wasn't my idea of a wonderful Wednesday night. Of course, there are many things I'd have preferred. Had I mystery girl in my life, and given the choice not to work, I would have spent all hours of the evening with her and compromised running Zul'Gurub with my guild - as much as they needed me tonight. I will get her number!

A big congratulations to Catlord of my guild, Unknown, who reached Rank 14: Grand Marshal. That is a huge, huge effort and deserving of applause from all inhabitants of the Proudmoore realm. Well done for hitting the number one spot and the highest ranking position in all of PvP-dom.

I wrote a poem and some thoughts last night. This morning. Yesterday morning :p
May post up the poem tomorrow night (tonight) if I remember to. Friggin late posting. Will never display my close, personal thoughts on the Internet. They are for my benefit - a much needed release of emotion. The only person who may read such thoughts does not yet hold the appropriate title o_O

A Load of Bull

For a good time: click the pic ^^

Early server shutdown again. I guess I could go watch more MacGuyver - or something.

Oh yeah, and I made this animated gif this avo for want of portraying an idea I had. If you don't play WoW the joke just isn't as funny. But that's the thing with situational jokes - you have to understand the situation in order for the joke to be humourous. The same is true with culture and language. Translating a joke often loses the punchline, since many jokes are culturally esoteric.

Still wanting to catch the attention of mystery girl @ uni. She's still a bit of a mystery to me, it's true, but I do know her name and that's a good start. I'm calling her mystery girl because it keeps her identity that much more in the dark from prying eyes - if any such happen to wander this way. Those that would seek to pry into my innermost thoughts: oh, alas, it shall not be! Mystery girl's in two of my three classes, too. I never even noticed until this afternoon. I guess that doubles my chances of getting her number? And also gives me more of a chance to find out whether my hopes pay off and she is both single and available - and if she returns the interest ^^

Ah, mystery girl, your beauty doth confound this poor, wretched soul. My heart is pierced with longing for thy notice and approval. Wherever will this path lead me? Such longing is not becoming of such a sensible man as myself. And yet I can't help but take this situation and weave a web of words to suit the mellifluous mood that surreptitiously surrounds such enigmatic emotion!

Time will tell - then Tim will tell XD

Pinnacle of Delight

Thought I should put up a pic of the Broodlord himself. Possibly the most humanoid of BWL bosses so far. He hits like a truck, too, apparently. I've been within range of his blast wave and that in itself is not nearly as nice as a simple slap to the face. Next stop, Firemaw.

What's wrong with the following picture:

Aside from the fact that it is obviously a Horde on a PvP server, in Silithus, with their cursor on the mage, and aside from the fact that the character in question is holding what looks like a sprig of lilac in their offhand; this is a mage with full Netherwind (as far as I can tell) - and they have [Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight] - a warrior weapon for sure :/ Strangest thing I've seen all day.

I was praying this morning - as you do - and I was just talking to God about this girl at uni that has caught my eye - and more. She's absoultely gorgeous, actually. I basically asked for an opportunity to at least say hi to her (and maybe do something really bold and brash like ask for her number - despite the fact that I left my phone at home today, charging. I think the battery is finally giving out). Well, I saw her at my lecture (she came in a little late, methinks) but afterwards, she wandered over to some people that were obviously her friends, so I couldn't exactly walk up to her under the circumstances. Still, I went down to the toilet, and when I came out, who should be walking past? Bingo! She was chatting to a female friend at the time. No coincidences here; now was my opportunity! Alas, once again this braveheart fails to take that courageous step - and lets yet another opportunity pass him by. I let her walk right on past without even so much as catching her attention - or her glancing in my direction. Fool young man! But thanks God, anyway. You tried. Please be a little more patient with this inept student ^^

/sigh I'll miraculously fall into the right relationship one day. And there shall be feasting and rejoicing across the globe. I just hope it's her XD

80's Cheesiness

With this pocket knife and paper clip I'm gonna save the world! Or at least disarm a bomb with a mere 1 sec left on the timer XD They call me: MacGuyver. Queue theme music.

Nick went and grabbed the first two seasons of MacGuyver yesterday. We watched the pilot this afternoon. Classic stuff! It's still just as awesome. Some of his mannerisms have carried through to Stargate, which is interesting. Especially since you see characters develop over the years that a programme is aired. The Jack O'Neill I am currently familiar with is Lieutenant General O'Neill, Base Commander of the SGC and no longer a part of SG-1. Compare that with Angus MacGuyver in his debut episode - and perhaps even the entire season - and there are just some quirks that seem oh-so-familiar - despite it being a contrasted character.

We defeated the third Blackwing Lair boss tonight: Broodlord Lashlayer. It'll be quite some time before my mage gets any of the loot from these raids but I'm biding my time and having fun - while supporting the guild as best I can.

I hope I'll have a chance to talk to that girl in my English class tomorrow (haha, 100+ people in a lecture - one can only hope). Argh, must stop thinking about such things all the time. Next I'll be dreaming about her... ^^

Corruption Dies

After three weeks of attempts to down Vaelastrasz the Corrupt, Unknown once again defy the improbable and difficult and take this nasty fire-drenched beastie down.

Well done guys! We reached yet another milestone in our Blackwing Lair venture ^^

In other news, I spent the afternoon with three guys from my film class, setting up a couple of scenes and taking photos for our upcoming assignment. It seems to be coming along quite nicely. I don't exactly do much whilst at home - hopefully I will be able to motivate myself enough to do well in all tests, essays and other assessments as they arise - not leaving things to the last day (like I'd ever do that anyway...).

Oh, and there is this really nice girl in my ENGL114 tutorial, which is held on Friday afternoons. I'm not gonna say much more than that. Maybe I can get her number next week... XD

Ripping round a smooth corner at 120km/h, accelerating out and tearing down the straight to cross the finish line at break-neck speed. Racing is a thrill - albeit a somewhat noisy and life-threatening pulse of adrenalinised action. I'll stick to Gran Turismo, thanks ^^

Life is like a racing track. Well, that's a bit of a cliched simile. Let's say that life _is_ a racing track, making it a metaphor and a whole lot more clicheically accurate :p Navigation, surprises, moving at different speeds, taking things as they come - all of these are traits that both life and a racing track share. The Right Idea

If I leave my entry too late my brain shuts off and I can't come up with anything at all. Right now, I'm quite tired from the weekend. It's not too late but I'm still tired and hope to get to bed earlier than usual. I should have PvPed with my mage but instead I levelled my warrior to 49. Yay.

What happens to the writer who fails to write every day? Or cannot think of a single thing of interest? Or begins to write and comes up against a brick wall; impenetrable and too high to scale? Does he dip his hand into a hat of some magical description and pull out random idea #154? Perhaps flipping through a physical dictionary would work better than a random google search.

The best literature comes from an original idea that is expanded to form a plot and then an entire story, complete with characters, places, actions and events, and detail in everything. It's the initial idea that is oftentimes elusive. Not that I want to write an entire story a day - imagine that! I'd like, however, to grasp an idea that allows me to write something substantial; something encouraging, rather than falling back on this game that I spend so much of my free time in.

Creative reasoning :/

Blackwing Cabal

We defeated Razorgore for the second week running. This time, we only wiped about five times before really getting into the swing of things and teaching him a fatal lesson. As it stands, the server has been playing up a lot this week, and so there are rolling restarts - however, I believe that there will be a half hour gap or so between when the servers went down and when we can log back in. My guild has decided that we will all take a half hour break before logging back on, reforming our raid and giving Vael a few attempts.

The biggest problem here is that you need quite high Fire Resist in order to stay alive as long as possible. There is constant Damage over Time of the fire persuasion. The more resist you have, the longer you will stay alive, and the more Damage Per Second you will be able to punch out. It's a very fun fight no matter whether you live or die (as some people cannot avoid dying. See: Burning Adrenaline*). As our regular raiders, my mage included, raid each week, we will get stronger and better geared, improving our effectiveness overall. It doesn't hurt to have a bit of practise at any boss, either; whether we are likely to succeed or not ^^

*Burning Adrenaline (BA) is a debuff that gets randomly put onto one caster at regular intervals (I don't know the frequency of this). You are given approx. 30 secs to do as much damage as possible, as you already have the universal debuff that prevents the requirement of mana usage, but it also causes all casting times to be zero - this basically gives you unlimited insta-cast spells for the duration of BA. But once the timer hits zero: you be dead.

I have to get up early for work tomorrow. This is going to be the case every Friday night. I'm going to just have to live with less than 8 hours' sleep for a 10-hour day. Getting back into the swing of things is only going to be good for me, anyway. Taking a break from playing all weekend is just what I need. An early night tomorrow won't hurt either, as I am playing the drums at church this Sunday morning.

Hakkar is down. Why'd I wait another 30 mins while the guild mucked around, just so we could summon and defeat Ghaz'ranka? Ah well, we all do stupid things :/

Thought I was working today so I went all the way down to work, through the pouring rain and howling wind, to find that I wasn't. At least I got a ride home.

Went to music practice of all things. It was fun ^^

Beneath A Steel Sky

The streets were slick with the rain as it came down more than lightly. Small rivulets threaded their way between various objects, running into gutters and covering the entire surface with a sheen that reflected the city's lights. The walk downhill didn't cause too much trouble as the pavement surface was pitted and uneven, giving more grip than the water could take.

The sun was up - somewhere. It must have been. Hiding behind a few grouped clouds, perhaps. What little good it was hiding its face, and its much needed warmth, from everything. The air was damp but also rather frigid, causing breath to come out in puffs of mist. And in this cool afternoon air, one was glad to be walking downhill towards a destination, hood up and waterproof overclothes barring the rain from making any impact and causing any discomfort.

Once true shelter was reached, it was just a matter of throwing back a hood, unzipping a jacket and striding resolutely towards the waiting train. The journey home would begin in 15 minutes. Time could be killed in exactly the same way as on the journey itself: by reading a book. A dry ride in a warm carriage with obligatory reading material; a fine end to another day in the world of lectures and notetaking.

10K honour. Not bad ^^

No Denying It

An early entry because I felt like it. And also because I was browsing the guild forums and came across a link to this Blog - most notably, this entry. Since I play a mage I found it to be rather amusing. There's also a hunter one. I still have an affinity for hunters but my mage is my main character now that my hunter is on sabatical.

When I got home today, I actually had something in mind for putting in tonight's Blog entry. I should keep my eyes open more as I walk through Wellington. Who knows, I may find things to write about every day.

I saw a commercially painted car that said "Fire Denyer" on it. It also said some small message about preventing fires. But I thought to myself, what's a "denyer"? I was thinking DEN-ya (rhyming with tenure), and it puzzled me for about half a minute before I realised that it was intended to be "denier". Fire denier! Of course! I'm guessing the guy is either a complete n00b or the 'y' is intended for eye-catching purposes. Either way, I really do miss the most obvious things at times - and yet at others catch the most obscure almost straight away.

There's a girl in my ENGL112 tutorial that is from Germany but she looks Japanese. I'm guessing half 'n half. Very attractive, too. Found out she speaks German, Japanese and English. Very intriguing. Must pursue this further ^^ There's always next Tuesday!

Purple Lotus

I searched for purple. I found something purple. Fancy that ^^

I will study this week. Heck, I already did somewhat today during the big gap between my lecture and watching two movies for FILM101. That's right, we had two screenings today: Down With Love and Snake Eyes. Both decent movies - from a film critic PoV, of course XD

Rags must go down before I go to bed... :/

Like A Pro

The thing with formatting your entire system, especially when you've been running it for more than a year, is the sheer volume of what needs to be saved - and the amount of programmes and the like that have to be reinstalled. My intention is to format my entire system sometime before Wednesday - but from then on in it will be an arduous process of setting everything back up again, no matter how much has been backed up and kept intact, structure-wise. Gotta back it all up first, and that in itself will be a real mission, especially considering that I have to sort through everything.

Guess there'll be no PvP for me tomorrow night, unfortunately. Not only do I know that I have to force myself to study and stay on top of things, but it will be best to sort through all of my files, ready for the format. Then again, I could always leave it until another time and see if I can get myself a legitimate copy of Windows XP Professional. Not that what I'm running is pirated, but it is a corporate version that is no longer supported by Microsoft. I would just feel better having paid for a copy of Windows that I can call my own. The last one I bought was Win 95 :/

My warrior is doing well. I dropped Enchanting to take up Skinning. I already left a note on my Mage's guild signup page to say I couldn't make tonight's Ahn'Qiraj raid due to drumming at church - a good opportunity to come home and play my warrior. If only I'd decided to change professions a little earlier, I would have saved myself a lot of time and hassle. Ah well, it's the easiest profession to level. I never made much money with my Hunter skinner but I'll see how a Warrior skinner does ^^

As for collecting Glowing Scorpid Blood for the awesome epic Darkmoon Faire amulet that my mage would look so good in, I really should hand in something else until my rep goes up. Collecting 600 of them would take forever :s
